Internet Marketing with the Right Perspective

by Frank Reed on February 12, 2009

Internet marketing and social media are just way too many words. Too many words and too few thoughts. Too many actions with too few plans. Too few actions with too much talk. These are all the wrong combinations of words and actions which are really just there to make us feel busy and productive. Do you really have the time and money to waste these days?

Please consider your internet marketing efforts. Are they on hold? Are they overwhelming? Are they even remotely effective? Do you even have any? Until you assess where you are currently you will have no hope of getting where you want to be.

Don’t be afraid of the idea of an audit and an actual strategy. The time and cost to you will likely be returned many times over as you become more efficient and targeted. Is this is a guarantee? No. If you think that anything is guaranteed in the internet space I suspect we need to have a very different conversation.

FT Takeaway: Stop. Look. Listen. If your internet marketing efforts make you feel like you are putting the pedal to the metal in neutral then stop. Assess the effort. Make adjustments. Stop being busy. Start being productive.
