The Asheville Grown Business Alliance started this campaign on Black Friday of this year for obvious reasons. When I saw it in the door of Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe before I went to a concert at the Asheville Civic Center, I just had to agree.
Now, it’s up to the SMB’s and Internet marketing service providers of the world to work together to really make the buying public aware of and excited about local businesses. This is especially important in the online space as Google continues to improve its mapping services for the mobile Android platform.
Congrats to Asheville and their concentration on the local business in that neat city. There needs to be more efforts like this one. If you know of any please share. Thanks.
