Today was a Monday for sure. It felt like a Monday in July. Not much happening. I did manage to write about some stuff in a few places. Here’s a recap.
reddit Asking for Alms. Conde Nast Must Be So Proud – Marketing Pilgrim
reddit is in trouble and they are asking their loyal supporters to chip in what amounts to a plea for donations.
Social Networks Driving CPM’s Downward – Marketing Pilgrim
Lots of traffic but really low CPM’s are what social network sites are creating and the industry is taking a hit as a result.
Cheap Content Marketing Tricks Need to Go Away – Content Mission
I know there are many that think that we are all supposed to be nice to each other online and that criticism is evil but if we don’t police each other then we run the risk of allowing cheap content tricks. I found a post from a blog I normally value that caused me to react.
Frank Thinking: The idea that I should be able to do anything I want with no regard for anyone else but myself and no one can call me on it is just plain stupid. If we do not self-police we will let the lowest common denominator rule and that’s not a good place to be.
